2017 Art League of Ocean City Exhibit

Art League of Ocean City

August 28-October 1, 2017

Our judge was Ellen Rice

Painter, writer, gallery owner, Ellen Rice is one of Delmarva’s most collected artists. Her work is held in private, government and corporate collections. A winner of numerous awards, Ellen’s greatest joy in painting is to share with the viewer moments of awe. A self-taught artist, Rice believes that, “Technique is important to a successful painting, but it will only take you so far. Great Art is honest Art.”

In selecting winning paintings as a juror says Rice, “I have to be moved by the piece. Does it tell a story that is deeper than the image depicted? Does the piece resonate with me? Do find myself returning to it again and again?”
