Rules for BWS Member Only Exhibits (not Mid-Atlantic)
These rules are governed by the honor system and BWS reserves the right to reject any painting deemed unacceptable based on these rules. You should also know that BWS will take every precaution to make sure your paintings are handled with care and that we will promote each show as best we can through our newsletter, our website, and any other means at our disposal.
These rules apply to BWS Member Only shows; they do not apply to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Exhibition.

- Although acrylic and acrylic mediums are included: as a watermedia society the expectation is that the paint and acrylic medium are applied in a fluid manner, not in thick, impasto applications.
- Photographs upon which your painting is based must be free from any copyright infringement and be your own composition.
- Works painted in a workshop are permitted as long as the work was painted from your own source and no part was painted by the instructor.
- No prints of any kind, including enhanced giclee prints, are permitted.
- There are no restrictions on when the painting was completed or how many times it has been previously exhibited in a BWS Member Only Show. If a painting receives an award in a BWS Member Only Show, it will not be eligible for an award in another BWS Member Only Show.
- Size restrictions, if any, are dependent on the venue where the exhibit is held and will be specified in the registration information and instructions.
