Juror Barbara Kiwak's Award Selection
First place "I've got the Blues" by J. Dinora.
Clearly an award winner. Ambitious composition. The subject matter is masterfully handled.
There is a lot of information but the artist handles this nicely with out it being tedious. Her technique flatters the subject matter and doesn't over shadow it. Wow!! Amazing control.
Second place, "Anchor Chain" by M. Schreiber
Beautiful technique. A wonderful example of the medium being handled with soft transitions of color. Dynamic composition, love the cropping. The artist skillfully moves the eye around the piece with strong values.
Third place "enlightenment" by A. Jolliff
Strong composition, excellent control and application of color. Use of warm and cool greens as well as warm/cool pinks make this a beautiful and dynamic piece.
Honorable mention "Uplifted" by K Daywalt
The artist skillfully uses design and pattern to create a uniquely striking image.
Honorable mention "Bald Cypress at Trap Pond" by N Mysak
Beautiful use of fractured color. Fresh, excellent control.
Honorable mention "Join the Crowd" by A Rimpo
Whimsical. Fresh application of color.
