Member Registration opens August 5th and ends September 15th or when full, whichever comes first.

The Town of Washington Grove is a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. Washington Grove was a Methodist camp on the Chautauqua circuit. Washington DC citizens hop on what is now the MARC line and stayed the summer playing in the woods and swimming in Maple Lake, listening to music and playing tennis. It is remarkably charming, with Victorian Gothic-style cottages dating from 1875 and beautiful gardens, enchanting walkways and woods. It is a terrific place for plein air (Yellow Barn students are out here enough that the residents wave).  It is right in the middle of Montgomery County off the ICC, between Rockville and Gaithersburg. 

Use these directions by changing the starting point to your location.

Bring your easel and your own supplies -- plein air painting is encouraged! Feel free to just sketch if you prefer. You might want to take photographs of the views to inspire future paintings.

Stay all day (10am - 4pm) or just join us for lunch. Lunch will be served at 12: 30pm.

Cost: $25 each - Members and Guests  - facility limits 45 attendees so sign up early

Registration and all payments must be received by September 15th.

If a Member, Be sure to login before registering.

If you don't login the system will not know you are a member so you will not be able to register during the members only registration time and the computer will not give you the members only  price.

All registrations have to be paid within 5 days of registering. No exceptions please.

Cancellation policy: 

Cancellations between August 24 and September 3rd receive a 75% refund. 

Cancellations between Sept 4th through Sept 15th will receive a 50% refund.

No refunds after Sept 15th.

Event Protocol: 

Please park at the Methodist Church across the street from the Women’s Club. Follow signs.

• Per Montgomery County Law: Smoking is prohibited in all Buildings, Porches and within 25 feet of all historic structures and building entrances. The residents thank you for not smoking!
• No alcohol can be brought onto or consumed within Washington Grove, which is a dry town. Alcohol found on the property that was not provided by the caterer, can be confiscated. 
• No outside food or beverages.
