DEMONSTRATION INSTRUCTOR:
RUSSELL JEWELL Ed. D, AWS, TWSA, NWS
The Baltimore Watercolor Society is excited to feature a demonstration with our 2024 Mid-Atlantic Juror, award winning plein air artist and educator Russell Jewell. He is a masterful plein air painter with a Doctorate in art education and 35 + years of teaching art to students. We will be watching Russell do a demonstration using skills plein air painters and studio landscape artists use to bring light and life to their landscapes.
SUBJECT:
LANDSCAPES WITH RUSSELL JEWELL
Painting en plein air or in the studio, the artist attempts to bring to fruition a spontaneous moment in time… forever. This demonstration will focus on painting atmospheric light in the landscape discovered in photos. Whether the landscape be urban or rural, light is the guiding factor. The instructor will demonstrate, in a timely manner, as if in an ever-changing plein air environment. Jewell will discuss ways to become more timely and how to breathe fresh air into your paintings.
Students will benefit from the demonstration
