Annapolis Maritime Museum

is hosting an Exhibit for BWS Signature Artist Members

July 8-August 18, 2025

Delivery on July 7, 2025  10-11AM and Pickup on August 18, 2025 10-11AM.

 Annapolis Maritime Museum is open to the public:

• Tuesday - Sunday, 10AM - 3PM, and during events. A museum entry fee is charged to view the exhibit, except during the reception.

Special note: This exhibit is titled "Maritime Paintings and Beyond"  All subject matter will be accepted, however, our BWS Juror of awards will be awarding cash awards limted to those paintings with a Maritime theme: Best in Show is $200*,  $150* 2nd place,  $100 3rd place, three Honorable Mentions $50 each. You may want to consider this theme when selecting a painting for this exhibit.

All registrations have to be paid within 5 days of registering. No exceptions please.

BWS will have Alternate drop-off locations for this exhibit.  Parking is limited so carpooling during drop-off is recommended.

Schedule

• Deadline for entries: June 7, 2025 or until the exhibit is full, whichever comes first.
• Drop Off Date: Tuesday July 7, from 10:00am-11:00 or as arranged with alternate location and time
• Reception: Sunday  Jul 27, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 PM
• Pick Up:  Monday, August 18, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM or as arranged at alternate location and time

BWS and Gallery Commission 30% on all sales

The gallery will collect sales including sales tax and mail a check to BWS 70% of the sale price plus the sales tax collected within 7 days after the close of the exhibit. BWS will distribute the sales money (70% of artist's price plus sales tax) to each artist within 10days after receiving the payment from the gallery.

If the buyer is not able to pick up the artwork on August 18 from 10 AM and 3PM, then the artist is responsible to pick up the art during that time and arrange a pick up time with the buyer.

BWS Member Show Exhibition Rules and Regulations

As part of registering, you are presented with the exhibit rules and regulations that apply to all of our Member Show Exhibits. Please be sure to click the link in the registration form to read the full set of rules.

Here are some highlights from the rules and regulations.

• Paint on natural or synthetic paper or paperboard and display the painting under glazing (matted or floated).
• No impasto applications of mediums or paint
• Display gallery wrapped watermedia paintings without mat or frame with no staples or hardware visible.
• Paintings framed without mat or glazing must be mounted on a ridged surface and have a waterproof coating or protective sealant.
• Use of paper canvas, fabric canvas (cotton or linen), Aquabord, Claybord, or Gessobord for the watermedia paintings must have a protective sealant (e.g., varnish or wax)
• Use only paper-based collage material created by the artist with water-based media.
• The rules regarding mats and frames apply when mats and frames are used. They must be clean and without scratches.

Registrants acknowledge that, for promotional and educational purposes, images of pieces submitted may be used by BWS and the Host Gallery.

Please submit an image with your registration because AMM wants to approve the submissions and so they can be presented online as well as in the gallery.
